Itinerary

Unleash your inner explorer with the ultimate 3-Day Jinja Adventure & Source of the Nile getaway. Known as the adventure capital of East Africa, Jinja sits precisely where the mighty Lake Victoria flows into the Nile River. This action-packed itinerary is designed for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike, seamlessly blending adrenaline-fueled water sports, rich colonial history, and serene riverside luxury

Day 01 :
Set off To Jinja

Briefing will be done to give the theme of the tour from the organizers and lecturers.
We will set off at exactly 700AM for the tour.

Visiting the Sezibwa Falls
Ssezibwa Falls is located 32 kilometers away from Kampala city along the main road between
Kampala and Jinja in the District of Mukono. The Ssezibwa falls are a result of water squeezing
through narrow opening of rocks and dropping at great speed (17 meters) into a large pool that
is about 14 meters deep.
The first thing that strikes you after passing through the main gate (made from reeds) is the
beautiful scenery and gentle sounds of the waterfalls. The area is full of trees and is relatively
unspoiled.  As you move further inside the facility you not only spot the waterfalls but also a
bridge under which the river flows downstream. The bridge offers arguably the best spot to
view the falls and take photos. Across the bridge are rocks and more trees standing on well-
manicured grass. All these combine to create a great atmosphere for relaxation.

Hiking Mabira forest.

Our next stop will be Mabira Forest, the largest rain forest nearest to Kampala city. You will start with payment at the Eco tourism center after which you will be given a local guide to lead you through. After learning about the duration of the walk, the guide will choose one of the many forest trails where you will take a hike through the forest. On the trail, you will learn about the different medicinal trees and how people lived and survived on the forest. You will encounter different bird species, beautiful butterflies, red-tailed monkeys jumping from one tree to another and hopefully sight the Uganda Mangabeys on a good day. It will take like one hour.

Visiting Busowoko Falls
For any adventure traveler with a thing for waterfalls, there is something unique and majestic
about being around those foamy watery edifices plunging down the rocks as we saw when we
visited Busowoko falls found in Bususwa/Bukongo village, Budondo Sub- County, just after
Namavundu forest, 19kms off Jinja City (Approx. 81kms by road), East of Kampala.

Visiting the source of the Nile and A boat ride
On arrival in Jinja, you will start with lunch after which we shall enjoy a boat ride on River Nile
as it starts exiting Lake Victoria. This is will be the last site on this adventurous Jinja tour with a
boat ride to the “Source of the Nile” at the now submerged Rippon Falls. This is where the Nile
starts its 4000mile journey to the Mediterranean Sea traversing various countries along the
way. The boat rides take between thirty minutes and two hours depending on the available
time. Listen to your local site guide tell you stories of the ‘source of the Nile’ as believed by the
locals.
Jinja is also known as ‘the adventure capital of East Africa’ because of the many adventure
activities carried out on the Nile and along the Nile which include water rafting, kayaking, jet
boating, bungee jumping, squad biking and horse riding along the Nile. You are free to stay
longer and enjoy these many activities or arrange to return for the same.
